How it works
How does VantageDash get competitor prices?
You paste a competitor's store address and VantageDash works out which platform the shop runs on, then reads the products, variants and prices it shows publicly. It works with most online stores, and nothing is needed from the competitor's side.
How does AI product matching work?
VantageDash compares each competitor product with your catalogue by name, category, size and price range, and pairs the ones that are the same product even when the wording differs. For example, it matches your 'Vitamin D3 60ct Softgels' to a competitor's 'D3 Supplement 60 Capsules'. Pairs it is less sure about are shown as suggestions for you to review.
Does VantageDash change my prices?
No. VantageDash shows where your prices stand against your competitors and alerts you when theirs change. You decide what to do, and you change prices in your own store.
How often are prices updated?
The free plan checks prices by itself once a week, and you can start up to 5 more checks a month yourself. Paid plans check more often: Basecamp every 48 hours, Vantage daily, and Summit as often as every hour.
Is it legal to monitor competitor prices?
Yes. VantageDash only collects publicly available pricing, the same information any customer sees by visiting your competitor's website. This is standard competitive intelligence practice used by businesses of all sizes.
Stores and countries
Do I need a Shopify store to use VantageDash?
No. VantageDash reads most online stores, whichever platform they run on. Add your store's web address and VantageDash reads your products from it. You can also add or edit products by hand.
Which e-commerce platforms are supported?
Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Square Online and Ecwid, and the platforms European shops run on: Shopware, PrestaShop, JTL, Gambio, plentymarkets, Magento, Lightspeed, Shoptet, Shoper, DanDomain, ePages, OpenCart and EKM, as well as custom-built shops. That goes for your own store and your competitors'. If a shop shows its prices publicly, VantageDash can usually track them. On 29 October 2026 we read 75 shops we had never read before, on 11 of these platforms, from our own server, the way a price check reads them: 74 read the first time and the last one after we fixed our reader. We compared 131 of their prices by hand with what the page shows a buyer: 128 were right, 129 after a second fix. That count leaves out 9 more: 8 had no shop to read and one refused our server. A competitor on Toast, or one that blocks automated visits, gets a free first read on every plan and is kept current on paid plans. Your own store is read on every plan. On any plan you can also add the products you care about by hand.
Does it work outside the US?
Yes. VantageDash tracks shops in any country and reads prices the way they are written locally, like 1.299,95 kr. or € 1.299,90. Product names can be in any language.
What about different currencies?
VantageDash reads prices in whatever currency each shop uses, so shops that compete in the same currency are compared directly. To compare against a competitor that prices in a different currency, we set your workspace currency for you (email support@vantagedash.io) and you choose each competitor's currency. Conversion currently covers the US dollar, British pound, euro, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar, New Zealand dollar, Japanese yen, Swiss franc, Swedish krona, Mexican peso, Indian rupee, Danish krone, Norwegian krone, Polish zloty, Czech koruna and Hungarian forint.
